Fridge froze our beer, beds were hard to sleep on. Nice view of the river though.

First trip from Florida to Maine. We stayed in this quaint pleasant motel and adored it. Beautiful view of the water out back and we fell in love with the cats!!!! Adorable little town!!!
We stay at the Red Barn Motel every time we come Downeast and are always happy with our choice. The rooms offer plenty of comfortable space to spread out and the view of the river is great. My 3 kids enjoyed watching the sand bar appear and disappear with every change of tide. My kids and I also had an opportunity to explore the community garden that shares the property and was bursting with fresh vegetables and herbs, all free for picking by anyone! I like chatting with the friendly desk staff in the morning and in the evening and if you're checking in after the office closes they'll even leave your key and the wonderfully attentive local gal's number in case of emergencies. You can't find places like that much anymore! They offer coffee, cereal, milk, danishes and juice boxes in the lobby for breakfast included with your room but if you're smart and have time to linger over home fries and biscuits with the locals you'll head down the street a ways to the owner's other business, the Milbridge House Restaurant for the best breakfast I get all summer! This family run motel is a real gem and I expect we'll be headed back there year after year! PS- if you're a kayaker or canoe person I suspect this would be a great place to put into the river for a great day of boating!
This was a great 2 day stay for me. With it being newly renovated, you just can't beat the price. I highly recommend this place for anyone passing through or vacationing in the wonderful historical town of Cherryfield Maine or the surrounding areas. The staff is great and the rooms are very cozy and comfortable.
